Welcome to June everyone!

We have been busy mowing, decking, turfing, planting, pruning and all the exciting stuff that comes with Spring gardening!

June means we are 6 months into the year already and we are rapidly approaching the summer season: 20th June is officially the first day, but the weather we have been having has been brilliant and we have all been able to enjoy the BBQ, paddling pool and sunshine in our back gardens.

Your garden is quite possibly in its prime at the moment, if it’s not or you have gaps between your greenery, make a mental note of all the amazing flowers that you can see in bloom which you wish you had planted…alliums are still popping up and peonies are looking lovely, then make plans for your gardening ready for June 2021.

Tips for June gardening as it is at the moment…

\"\"

WATER!!!!! Water the lovely plants you have bought and planted in beds, pots or planters or they will shrivel up and probably die because it has been really dry weather. Also water any turf that you have put down, growing grass is thirsty work.

\"\"

Watch out for pests nibbling at your plants.

Pinch out the tips of fuchsias to get more flowers.

\"\"

Dead head roses and pin back the trailing roses so the beautiful flowers don’t droop.

\"\"

Dead head dahlias.

Keep on top of the weeding in your flower beds.

Keep on top of unruly hedges.

\"\"Prune wisteria.

Feed the lawn – when rain appears back on the forecast.

Tree surgery work. There are still lots of baby birds living in trees, so no tree work until they have flown the nest! One particular client was worried there might be a nest up in some trees that needed reducing, so we suggested sending a drone up there to check before disrupting the wildlife.

At Tame Your Garden we offer regular visits, or one-offs from tidy ups to tree work, to get you started in Spring, or if you have moved into a new property which needs a bit of work! We work with homeowners, tenants, landlords, estate agents, letting agents and business owners, on courtyards to car parks and front gardens to sports grounds, GP surgeries to schools. We have been up and running as a family business for 7 years, prior to this having worked as part of the Frosts installation team, contracts with Parks Trust and voluntarily looking after churchyards! We now have a professional Tree Surgeon/Arborist as part of the team.

Get in touch today for a quote for your garden, we operate between Buckingham and Milton Keynes, out to Cranfield, Bedford and Leighton Buzzard.
